Jainism in Karnataka flourished under the Ganga, the Chalukya and Rashtrakuta dynasties. Due to the impetus given by them, Jainism prospered like never before and what we see today is the exquisite creativity that flowered under these dynasties. The patrons of Jainism in Karnataka were mainly the Kadambas, the Gangas followed by the Chalukyas and then the Rashtrakutas. Today the state is home to a number of Jain monuments, such as temples, Gommata statues and stambhas. There are a number of monuments relating to the Jain religion in Karnataka. The Jain monuments include smaller shrines, Jain temples, Gommata statues and Sthambas. North Karnataka is a major Jain belt that has numerous Jain Basadis set amidst picturesque scenery. Pillars being the main motif of Jain architecture, intricately carved stone iconography and larger than life statues make for an interesting trip though the major Jain basadis of Karnataka.
Shravanabelagola, one of the most important Jain tirth (a sacred place) of the Jains in Karnataka. Shravanabelagola is well-known for its scenic beauty as well as for its religious sanctity. Visit the 57 feet world’s largest monolith statue of Bhagawan Sri Bahubalilocated on Vindhyagiri hill. The statue was installed in 981 AD by Chavundaraya and get the divine blessings of Bahubaliji and spend some time on the hill. Chandragupta basadi of the Gangas in Chandragiri hill and Parashwanatha basadi at the hillock. Moodbidri is popularly known as Jain Kashi because the town houses 18 beautiful Basadis (Jain temples), sacred scriptures of Jainism, the Dhawalas. Moodabidri is home to the 1000 Pillar Jain temple Tribhuvan Tilak Chudamani Basadi is ornately carved in the Vijayanagar style and is the largest basadi compared to other Basadis.

Day 2: Bangalore -Shravanbelagola- Hassan
- Morning breakfast at Hotel
- Proceed for a Full day excursion to Shravanbelagola
- Visit the statue of Gomateshwara or Bahubali, at Shravanabelagola is one of the most important Jain pilgrim centers
- There is a pond and two stony hills, called Chandragiri and Indragiri
- Visit the Chandragupta basadi of the Gangas in Chandragiri and the Parashwanatha basadi
- Then visit the town below the hill has the Jaina matha whose walls have very old paintings
- Shravanabelagola has over 500 inscriptions, and some of them are recording death by starving (`sallekhana’) by Jaina ascetics and laymen
- Then visit Cave of Bhadrabahu where the sacred foot of Sritakavalli is worshipped
- Next visit Manasthambha Basadi, a beautiful pillar constructed in 17th century
- Proceed towards Hassan

Day 3: Hassan- Mudbidri/Moodabidri
- Morning breakfast at Hotel

- Drive to Mudbidri/ Moodabidri, Moodabidri is a quaint temple town, better known as the ‘Jain Kashi’
- Enroute visit Chennakesava temple at Belur
- Then proceed to Halebid, home to some of the best examples of Hoysala architecture
- Visit the ornate Hoysaleswara and Kedareswara temples
- Arrive Moodabidri & Check in Hotel
- Relax for the remaining part of the day
- Overnight stay at Hotel in Moodabidri
Day 4: Moodabidri
- Morning breakfast at Hotel
- Proceed to visit Moodabidri, it is one of the major centers of Jainism in South India and has a concentration of Jain Basadi or temples
- 18 Jain temples were built between the 14th to the 16th century
- Visit the most famous are Ammanavara Basadi, Guru Basadi and Tribhuvan Tilak Chudamani Basadi out of this 18 basadi
- See the magnificent stucco images in Leppada Basadi and Parshawanatha stone idol in the Guru Basadi
- The rare Jain palm leaf manuscripts, also famous as ‘Dhavala texts’ are preserved in this Basadi
- Visit the famous Tribhuvan Tilak Chudamani Basadi or the Thousand Pillar Temple is ornately carved in the Vijayanagar style and is the largest amongst all
- Drop back to Hotel
- Overnight stay at Hotel in Moodabidri
Day 5: Moodabidri- Mangalore- Departure
- Morning breakfast at Hotel
- Check out Hotel
- Transfer to Mangalore airport to board flight for your onward journey
